Facilities Master Plan

Facilities Master Plan

In September 2024, the LASD board adopted a Facilities Master Plan to guide work on our existing nine school sites over the next decade and ensure that our campuses meet the high standards expected by our parents and community partners. In particular, the plan sets the following goals:

  • Permanent Teaching Spaces: Replacing many existing portable facilities with permanent structures, providing a stable and inspiring learning environment.
  • Infrastructure Improvements: Including critical infrastructure upgrades to extend the longevity of our schools.
  • Counseling and Student Support: Emphasizing spaces for counseling, programs, and student support to bolster our students’ well-being.
  • Equitable Support Spaces: Offering more equitable support spaces for underserved sites, including multi-purpose buildings, libraries, and improved classrooms for sites with a high number of portables.
  • Middle School Model: Accommodating the evolution of our junior high campuses to a true middle school model, housing 6th through 8th grade on the Egan and Blach campus sites.
  • Positive Social Environments: Reinforcing campus plans to create positive social environments.
  • Community Representation: Ensuring each site’s uniqueness, representing the diverse voices of our community.
